Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book if I have a tight deadline?
Yes — but please include your deadline when sending your files. This helps confirm whether the work can be completed in time. The sooner you mention a deadline, the better.
Can I sit in on the session?
MORTY Audio Lab is a remote service, so sessions are not attended in person. However, clear notes and references before the session help ensure the work reflects what you are looking for. A revision round is included where applicable if any small adjustments are needed after delivery.
Do I need mixing, mastering, or both?
It depends on where your track is at. If the individual parts do not feel balanced yet, you likely need mixing first. If the mix already sounds good and only needs final polish, mastering may be enough. If you are unsure, send over a rough bounce and I will help point you in the right direction.
How can I contact customer service?
You can get in touch by using the contact form on the website. Whether you have a question before booking, need help with your files, or want to discuss a project, send a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
How do I know if my track is ready to be mixed or mastered?
If you are happy with the arrangement and performances but the track does not sound finished, it is usually ready for mixing or mastering. You do not need it to be perfect — that is the point of booking the session.
How do I send my files to you?
Send a download link through Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, iCloud Drive or a similar service. Please check the link works and that the files can be downloaded before sending it over.
How long does a full-day session take?
A full-day booking gives up to 8 hours of focused work. It is better suited for full mix and master work, detailed editing, balance decisions and final file preparation.
How long does a half-day session take?
A half-day booking gives up to 4 hours of focused work on your track. It is best suited for mastering, final polish, vocal clean-up, mix improvements or export preparation.
How will my finished files be delivered?
Your finished files will be sent back to you by download link. This usually includes WAV and MP3 versions where relevant, clearly labelled and ready to use.
Is MORTY Audio Lab a remote service?
Yes. MORTY Audio Lab is fully remote. You book online, send your files digitally, and receive your finished audio back by download link. There is no need to travel or visit a physical location.
What files do I need to send for mastering?
Send a stereo WAV export of your final mix. If your mix already has a limiter on it, send two versions — one with your processing on and one clean version without the limiter. Also include reference tracks, BPM, key and notes.
What files do I need to send for mixing?
Send the separate audio files for your track — usually called stems or multitracks. This means individual files for things like vocals, drums, bass, synths, keys, effects and ad-libs. Also include a rough bounce, reference tracks, BPM, key and notes.
What happens after I book a session?
Once your booking is confirmed, the next step is sending your files over by download link. I will check the project, carry out the work, and deliver your finished audio back to you digitally.
What is included in a revision round?
One revision round is included where applicable. A revision covers small changes after delivery — such as adjusting a vocal level, softening a harsh section or making a small balance change. It is not a full restart or a change of direction.
What is the difference between a half-day and full-day booking?
A half-day gives up to 4 hours of focused work and suits smaller or more focused jobs. A full-day gives up to 8 hours and is better for more detailed work such as a full mix and master. If you are unsure which to book, consider how much work the track needs.
What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing is where the separate parts of your track get balanced, cleaned up and shaped. Mastering is the final stage after the mix is done — it improves loudness, tonal balance, clarity and prepares the track for release.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is handled securely through the website at the time of booking. All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
Where are you based?
